Misty Mountain
Situated 24km from Sabie, Misty Mountain is home to some truly magnificent views, hiking trails, activities and plenty more.
For us a spot of lunch was in order.
The View
Even if you decide not to eat, the view here alone is worth the trip.
Offering an infinity pool off the side of the mountain overlooking the true beauty of Misty Mountain and everything below.
Words alone cannot describe this true beauty.
Staying There
This is something we did not do so are unaware of the facilities and pricing, however it did come highly recommended by a very close friend and would highly recommend it for the hiking trails alone.
The chalets are situated along the side of the mountain near the restaurant itself offering fantastic views from each chalet.
The Food
The menu certainly isn’t limited to toasted sandwiches but we were only planning a short stop and therefore picked the Toasted Sandwich option.
Chicken Mayonnaise was our selection and it certainly comes highly recommended, however be sure to sit outside and eat it on a sunny day just to be able to sit back and enjoy the view.
The Drinks
If food isn’t quite what you fancy, try one of their cappuccinos on sale which will help wake you up and allow you time to soak in the truly magnificent view.
They offer a lot of local brewed beers in the area as well which are worth a try.
Activities
As mentioned above there is the possibility to explore the hiking trails up to the Misty Falls, however we did not have time to experience this.
We would highly recommend to Toboggan ride though which offers a 1.7km ride from the top to the bottom hitting speeds of 45 kilometre per hour.
Recommended?
We highly recommend a short stop off even if it is just for a drink. The view is magnificent, and truly is something you would see in a magazine.
It offers a fantastic friendly vibe with great staff that even allowed us to fly the drone from the top. Video footage of this soon.
To Conclude
Another leg of the journey complete as we head on to our next spot in Howick.
Misty Mountain was a slight detour on our journey but due to the recommendation we had to try and, it was certainly worth the detour.
