Away With The Fairies
Our route took a turn as we decided to skip a part of the route and head to the infamous Hogsback.
Ironically it came recommended by a chap in the UK. With no prior knowledge of the location we decided to venture on to Hogsback.
Hogsback
Famous for its beautiful views. The “Hogs” are the famous mountains which they call the “Hogs”.
This is a Hiking Trail heaven!
A true gem in the middle of know where with beautiful forests and people to enjoy it with.

Getting There
The drive to Hogsback is available from two routes.
Ironically we chose the long off road route which delved deep into the mountains over rock ridden roads.
People moan about pot holes, you need a fully equipped 4×4 to master these roads.
Never the less it was a journey we loved over all sorts of terrain arriving safe and sound.

Arrival
On arrival the area was truly beautiful, as we drove further into the forrest.
Locating Away With The Fairies, was not easy at first as we drove for a while until a faded sign appeared out of now where pointing us in the right direction.
A short drive and we were there.

Hostel Or Cabins
The choice for us was between the sharing dorm room style quarters of a chalet for the two of us.
With a spoilt few days we chose the chalet as our own space would be nice.
Shame really when later on we would find we would even be sleeping there for the night.

The Famous Bath Tub
When people mention Hogsback they all discuss the bathtub overlooking the view of the Hogs.
What we didn’t know until Ryan did some searching was that it was the property of Away With The Fairies.
This offered a beautiful view with a truly spectacular photo opportunity.
People can actually book slots to have a bath here in the morning or in the evening.

Lord Of The Rings
From my understanding there is a link between Hogsback and Lord of the Rings which is therefore why each chalet is named after a character.
From my understanding the author got inspiration from here, but I will leave the facts to the professionals.

The Sounds
The Chalet we chose was on the other side of the site which meant a short five minute walk from the office through the trees.
As a whole it is titled Away With The Fairies, and you begin to realise why when you enter the woodlands and hear the beauty coming from the insects in the trees.
It is a ringing noise that literally sounds like fairies talking amongst themselves about you as you pass on by.

The People
The staff are friendly and the general vibe is awesome.
For those that know me and my chilled out approach to life, it truly felt like home.
These types of places have that general feel when you arrive. An almost spiritual atmosphere which was truly amongst us as we sat by the fire with a cold brew.

Our Experience
For us this was an unforgettable part of the trip, sadly our antics got the better of us leading us to ensure everyone had a good time as we drank the night away.
Long term it would have been nice to stay longer and enjoy the hikes and use the drone to film the site but over it was a truly magical experience.
